One on an iPod which is still loud with my in-ear headphones, and two are on TVs that don't have a separate volume control for audio-out.I generally care how things sound, and I haven't noticed any frequency distortion. For most people the sound quality will be just fine.For those complaining about high-frequency attenuation, is there another product that does a better job. Does it cost less than $10.
I purchased this to hook up to my headphones that do not have a line level control. The one I got did not have a curved jack as pictured but rather a straight one, no problem. For its purpose it is fine.I am not an audiophile so I cannot comment on how good or bad the sound is. Seems fine to me but I have bad hearing anyway. I use this on my laptop and I have noticed that if I want to reach the louder setting I first have to turn my laptop up to one of the higher settings and then I can go up or down with the Koss. Overall I think it was a good purchase.
Therefore, this little appliance is perfect: theoretically, I can use any pair of earbuds I want, as long as I use this thing along with it. I tend to be very selective when it comes to earbuds. One of the things I prefer in every pair of earbuds I use is an extra volume control in addition to the one from my iPod. This volume control is slim and compact, and does the job fantastically.Some things that could be better: The cord could be shorter (I keep it bundled up--cords coming from any mp3 player are long enough as they are).The volume control could be a little smaller--I have an iPod nano 4G and it adds bulk when I wrap up my earbuds.The port for the earbud jack (inside the volume control) is a little defective on my volume control, and so when I connect my earbuds, it doesn't connect smoothly. I have to push it a little harder and it clicks louder.
If you use any sort of earphones or earbuds, and you need to extend the length of the cord, and at the same time also control the volume, this little device is something you can use. I also use one between my earbuds and mp3 player, again, I cannot complain. A true audiophile might have some issue with it, but for general use, this works like a charm. I use one between my computer and my headphones, and it sounds great on games and music alike. Very cost effective and hard to find something better. Note, this will NOT amplify the sound beyond the volume of the source, but can control it within the range of the signal being sent.
This was just what I wanted to use at my desk. Gave me extra length and allowed me to decrease the volume as my laptop's lowest was still too high. Unfortunately, despite very light use with no tension placed on the wiring it's a goner.
